Adjusting the brightness of a palette or image
There are several ways you can brighten a palette or image:
- You can use Advanced mode to correct the Saturation and/or the Brightness.
- You can use RGB mode, correcting some or even all the components.
- You can use HSV mode to correct the Saturation and/or Value parameters.
You're more likely to get better results using Advanced or RGB mode. Here's what you do:
- Load the palette or image you're correcting; see Loading a palette for color correction, or Loading an image for color correction.
- For a palette, you may like to view the background as a reference:
- Choose Image > Add Background on InkPaint's menu.
- Select the background in the dialog box that appears; see Locating a file.
- The background appears behind the character.
- Select the Advanced or HSV color correction mode; see Setting the color correction mode.
- Adjust the palette's brightness:
- If you're using Advanced mode, use the Saturation slider and/or the Brightness graph; see Using Advanced mode.
- Save the corrected palette or image; see Applying a correction to disk.
